Lake Lida is located near Pelican Rapids in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. Lake Lida is generally considered as two separate lakes, North Lake Lida (56074701) and South Lake Lida (56074702).
North Lake Lida has a maximum depth of 58 feet and a surface area of 5,513 acres. The lake also has a concrete public access site owned and maintained by the state (DNR).
North Lake Lida has a variety of fishing available, including black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, bowfin (dogfish), brown bullhead, freshwater drum, green sunfish, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, white sucker, yellow bullhead, and yellow perch. North Lida Lake is also connected to Lizzie Lake via a non-navigable culvert under County Road 4.
A majority of the shoreline on North Lida Lake has been developed. Homes, cottages, and resorts compose the development.
South Lake Lida has a maximum depth of 48 feet and a surface area of 775 acres. A state owned (DNR) concrete public access is located within Maplewood State Park along the south shoreline of the lake.
Fishing varieties on South Lake Lida include black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, bowfin (dogfish), brown bullhead, freshwater drum, golden shiner, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, white sucker, yellow bullhead, and yellow perch.

Lake Lida is a decently sized lake, with a land bridge connecting to South Lake Lida. The lake is a beautiful body of water with an irregular shoreline that resembles the shape of an elephant's head. Campers enjoy camping at Maplewood State Park because of the mesmeric scenery and the sandy beach of Lake Lida where they can fish, boat, swim, and relax.
The Maplewood State Park offers a wide variety of naturalist programs and activities for guests, including nature photography classes, scavenger hunts, leaf days, and fun festivals. The park also has an extensive network of trails that are popular among hikers, and also available for horseback riding, biking, cross country skiing, snow mobiling, and showshoeing. Bird watching is also a popular activity among visitors because the park is host to over 150 bird species.
Pelican Rapids is conviniently located less than five miles off of Lake Lida. Pelican Rapids is booming with fun activities for all ages during the summer. The town hosts Flea Markets, Minnow Races for the kids, Turkey Days, Art in the Park, and much more. Downtown, Park Rapids has grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, Laundromats, and numerous shopping opportunities.
There are two main parks in Pelican River that are separated by a large suspension bridge. E.L. Peterson Park has a fishing pier above the Mill Pond Dam, a large playground with a section for young, pre-school age children, and a large picnic shelter with barbeque pits. Sherin Memorial Park has spaces for RVs to park, and a campground for tent camping and campers. There are places to fish from the Pelican River riverbank and a smaller playground.
